Small town with little to no amenities. Poor dining choices and the IGA grocery store was the grossest store I’ve ever been in. If you must stay in Townsend because its the closest lodging to Cades Cove find a room with a kitchen - go to Maryville to stock up on groceries then spend all your time in the park.

Porta potty’s and septic sewage trucks in the view on the back side . The outside light that you can’t turn off , is so bright it shows through to the bed .Not booking. Com but The owners of this place are horrid . They charged me for room 10 also and have NOT refunded my $125 . Did not return my phone calls or email Extremely rude . I would never Stay here again

We got to visit everything we wanted to do! Everyone at every place except the Tremont Lodge and Resort (which we never got to stay) we’re absolutely wonderful and friendly! Reggie at the Tremont Lodge was unfriendly and refused our stay even though we had a reservation! I would not ever recommend that place! We stayed there 10 or so years ago and the people that ran it then were absolutely wonderful! We ended up staying 4 or 5 nights! But it’s not that way now! But Townsend is a great place to visit and the leaves turning were beautiful! Vickie

Townsend is a great place with friendly people. Love Cades Cove and all the water falls. IGA is a good place to get needed supplies and they have a hot bar. Best breakfast is at Townsend Pancake House. Good food is at Riverstone and Jimbob's.

Extremely friendly town! Every restaurant made us welcome and accommodated us on a patio with our small dog. Townsend Pancake house twice....super delicious breakfast. JimBobs Barbecue had great ribs and grilled shrimp, we ate under a patio umbrella in the rain on their patio. The Abbey was beautiful and had good food. Live music too. Loved the outdoor garden/patio.
