Itinerary

Our lesson time choices are normall 8/9/10/11/12/1 but on reopening during Covid -19 we are starting with 9/11/1:30 You do check in 1/2 hour before lesson time.
We meet at our shop located on the main street Hanalei and we do shuttle you to the beach.
Your family can drive down on their own but per the permits to do lessons at Hanalei Bay we have to shuttle students. Please support permitted companies.

Surf lessons with our instructor Pono was one of our favorite things we did on our entire two week honeymoon! Pono was a great teacher, made the lesson a ton of fun and helped both me and my wife ride our first waves, can’t recommend this place enough.

We had an excellent experience! This was the first time to surf for my husband and two daughters (8 and 10). Nate was great working with both the kids and my husband. I had no idea what to expect, but each of them was able to catch and ride numerous waves for quite a distance. Everyone loved it, and it was the highlight of our two week trip! Next time we come, I would consider booking multiple surf lessons with them so everyone could get even more comfortable. Awesome staff and awesome experience. Don't hesitate! If you are nearby for a week, think about doing more than one lesson. We can't wait to come back and surf again. Many thanks to Hawaiian Surfing Adventures!

Great time. Good instructors but super expensive. Not worth price. We paid $530 for 1 adult and 2 kids. Lesson started 40 min late but ended right before scheduled time. We were in water a little over 30 min when we paid for a 1.5 hr lesson. We lost half of the class and it was not made up. We checked in on time and got to beach on time as well. We didn't get to keep boards after lesson either so our surfing experience was very short. Kids we surfing though so that was great to see.

We booked a last minute surf lesson for four people, including my two younger children. They made it so easy to get in, last minute. Got us into the proper gear and straight out to the ocean where we had the best instructor, Pono. He got us all standing on our surf boards by the end of our lesson. We will definitely be practicing what we learned, whenever we can and will probably come back for more lessons to get better. Pono was highly knowledgeable about how to teach us individually to get up on the board and the best place to practice. Thank you for a very memorable and enjoyable experience!

Mitchell Boy was excellent!! 4 people with 0 experience and all were lovimg it and surfing by the end!! Highly recommend!!

We had the best time learning to surf with Mitchell! He was incredibly kind and an amazing teacher! I was pretty nervous going into it, but he put us at ease and made sure that we were successful in getting up on majority of the waves! I feel lucky that we happened upon this place and had the best teacher. Definitely make this a part of your trip in Hanalei! Thank you Mitchell and team!

Jack was a great instructor and helped our teens get onto some waves. He was encouraging and patient....and who could not love Hanalei Bay location? You can walk all the way out to the waves and still be only chest deep in water! :)

Our family had an awesome time with Nate and Evan. All of us caught multiple waves. First time surfers from age 14-49 and we all had a blast. We had so much fun we rented boards to give it a try on our own a few days later. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience all around from scheduling the lesson, to proactively reaching out to discuss logistics as result of the hanalei bridge closure (being flexible on time) to ultimately a great surf experience. My 4 kids had a blast with Luca. They all got up with his help and encouragement including one who was a bit teary. Book today! Awesome place!!
