Our experience was nothing but positive. Our tour guide made two novice kayakers very comfortable and safe. The ability to be so up close the the sea life in the Mangrove Maze was memorable.

I really enjoyed the Mangrove Maze tour with Phil “The Kayak Guy”. Phil is welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He is also a very calming influence, perfect for this type of nature outing!

Fun tour of the mangroves with Phillip! I had never kayaked before and this was such a fun morning activity. The group was small, only 5 people including Phillip, so it felt like a private tour. We saw a lot of beautiful mangrove maze paths and even explored a bit on our own in an opening. We also learned about the ecosystem and wildlife in the area. Guaranteed to see jellyfish, maybe some crabs. We didn’t catch any sharks or manatees but they’re around! Very relaxing way to get away from the heavy tourist area on Key West.

Phil was an excellent tour guide for our three hour tour. It is an hour longer than the other well-reviewed kayak tour, but it paid off in terms of time spent, flexibility and size of the group. We were led through the open water to the Mangroves where we followed Phil through the maze. So beautiful! Upon exiting the mangrove maze we had ~20 minutes to wander on our own which was special. That time on our own plus the small group helped make this seem like we really were out in a pristine nature preserve, not just a tourist site.

Our guide, Phil, was really knowledgeable about the mangroves and taught us why they're so important to the environment, the animals that depend on them, and humans everywhere. Go on this tour if you want some simple exercise, the unique experience of learning how to kayak through mangrove tunnels, and an interactive way to learn about the mangroves and why these shrubby little trees will earn your respect!

Philip was a really fun and knowledgeable tour guide. Relaxed, but a rice fun. We have never experienced mangrove exploration before and it was really neat!
